Problems with themes

Ever since ning opened its Design Studio, I have been having problems.  On 2 of my sites

threads broke in themes and the comment box has been jumping around the page.

We are NOT part of Design Studio but it seems as though their changes have impacted upon us anyhow.

Just now I was working on a theme here and when I opened the CSS code to add some things,

my code vanished and the code for Hippy's main page came up.

 

Are others here having similar problems?

Does anyone know more about this?

Sorry that happend ,but it did it to me also,its a ning thing

but after i reintered the code it did not change back to the site theme code

the next time i went to css page

it looks like Ning has a lot more to fix on the stupid new design studio

We are also experiencing this and have posted about it on Ning Creators as well as submitting tickets. 

So far they are not responding.

I am glad it's not just me,  even though I knew it wasn't.

Everytime they change something, they screw more things up.

I wish you lots of luck in getting a reply,,,,Oh and they just suspended me from creators ,I guess they can not stand me and my truth posting....Ha Ha Like i care all they did was prove my point that they cant take the truth when it is put in there face ...

Also why does members cssbox auto have the site theme code in it when they open it instead of there profile csscode that was there befor you added the new stupid edeter ...

many members have complaned on this mater also

sence the new CEO took over Ning has done nothing but go down hill ,

I pay for my network here so i should control of it and not be push to use your new stupid new ideas trying to make this a selling network

insted of the Social Network you clame to offer.

still use a theme you like on your own pages ....Also all members here

now can make there own groups and forum Discussions ,

Just dont use the Blog post ,

this is where I will continue to post new Themes for all to use FREELY,

Wow, I'm impressed.  I can't believe Ning can ban a paying NC from there.  What do they expect when they force us to defend ourselves and our network stability?  We are going to go to Creators and express our thoughts.  They may not like them, but they should listen anyways and remember that they just upset a whole lot of people.  I submitted a blog not knowing it had to be approved by Ning.

Since reading this I have withdrawn my blog from there and posted it here and on my site also. Those of us who dress the Network reach a wide range of Ning Creators. 

Do I begin my post with the kudos or the rant?

I believe this is how many posts are labeled here. Either there is praise or there is disdain. I'm here to give a balanced critique of the stability of the Ning Platform.

I'm not concerned with my popularity here, what I am concerned with is the stability of the platform and and honest critique. I want Ning to work, I have invested a lot of time into helping others design their Ning networks. Ning is not the only site/platform that I work with, but it is turning out to be the one needing a lot of attention. Ning seems to be as Powerful as it is Fragile. Attractive to those who are not into the building and maintaining of the structure of their website; but rather the content, or the appearance.

What I have experienced in my short time working with Ning is:

[+] Ning has been persuaded to make compromises with their clients.
[+] Ning gave NCs the option to turn off the new text editor.
[+] Ning created a video Explaining the Design Studio.
[+] Ning is Highly customizable
[+] Ning has some exciting plans. (Potential)

[-] Having to come here to check for coming changes.
[-] If I didn't come here I would have unexpected changes.
[-] Every time Ning makes universal changes it effects some networks negatively initially.
[-] Ning did send out an email announcement this time... the day after was it?
[-] Ning Support seems to have a lot of complaints unless you are one of the regulars here.


I see a trend in my positive and negative list of Ning disrupting things on our Networks and then scrambling to put things where they belong. "What did Ning do now?" has become a popular question on my site. When I go through the forums I don't know if there is an area of the platform right now that is functioning as it should on all networks, yet Ning Status claims:

All systems go!

Sorry Ning, but not all systems are go and this is awfully misleading to some NCs who may go here to find out what is wrong with their network. I know when I was "New" to Ning this is where I went when my site had issues. More so this is misleading to some one considering opening a Ning Network. Known issues should be posted on Ning Status.

My concern is that these are bad business decisions that are going to effect every one on Ning and I can't recommend it to clients as reliable. I will work with Ning users, but I will not recommend the platform to a client. It's a grand idea but reliably unreliable.

Just my honest perspective.
