A VALENTINE'S DAY STORY:Valentines week had started off bad,

my hunny was sick and all my co-workers were mad.

The flowers were expensive, the candy was too sweet...

and between school and my job...

well I was just beat.

I was getting upset and I started to cry,

then came a knock at my door and good old Cupid stopped by.

He smiled at me and said "Don't get too stressed,

me and my arrows know you are trying your best.

Valentine's Baby Cupid...

Your love will get better, your co-workers will smile...

and as for cheap flowers, here is the number to dial."

And with that he turned and winked a cute wink,

and before I knew it...he was gone in a blink.

Well, Valentines came and Valentines went,

and it was definitely worth all those cards that I sent.

My sweetie gave me roses, and my co-workers candy,

and so my day was really quite dandy.

Valentine's Boy Cupid...

As for the Cupid who made my day,

where he is now I really can't say.

I'll never forget his face all aglow

as he gave me advice to go with the flow.

Valentines Day will never be the same...

but I really do wish I had gotten that cute Cupid's name!

If you are as romantically dysfunctional as some of us "Netaholics", here are some ideas that you may want to use for your Valentine.

Valentine's Day Dinner

For Your Sweetheart

Make breakfast in bed.

Make your sweetheart's favorite Boiled Broiled Lobster meal or take your sweetheart out for a special dinner.

Send your valentine (male or female) flowers at work. If you are on a tight budget, give just one single hand-delivered flower. Remember, it's the thought not the quantity.

Do something unexpected! Drive across town to take your Valentine out for lunch.

Send a gift basket of indulgent items.

Embroider "I Love You" on his pillowcase. You could also use a water resistant marker.

Poetry is traditional for Valentine's Day. Make up your own or buy a book of love poems that you can read together.

Dedicate a favorite song to your Valentine on a radio show that he or she will be listening to.

Write "I Love You" in lipstick or shaving cream on the mirror. You could also tape a heart with the words "I Love You" if you prefer an easier clean up.

If your sweetheart is going to be away from you on Valentine's Day, get several Valentine's Day cards and put them in different places in his or her luggage. You could sequence them with "Open Me on February 14th" or "Open Me on February 15th" to create some suspense. Don't limit this idea to just Valentine's Day!

Family Members...

Everyone loves a gift on Valentine's Day: Parents, children, friends and relatives. It doesn't have to be expensive, just show you care!

Valentine's Bubbling Hearts

Hide a valentine in a lunch box, briefcase or purse. Imagine the smile on their face when they find it during the day.

Carry a pocketful of chocolate kisses. Pass them out as you let the recipient know that you appreciate them.

Make your kids valentine-shaped cinnamon toast for breakfast or heart-shaped cookies for a special treat.

General Ideas...

Wear something red.

Take a special treat into the office to share with your co-workers.

A mylar balloon that says "You're Special," a coffee cup filled with candy, a single flower, or take them out to lunch!

Seal all your messages with initials or drawings that the recipient must figure out the meaning. For example: A.F.F. (A friend forever) or S.W.A.K. (sealed with a kiss.) The guessing game could go on for days.

Open Heart

The heart is like a flower - unless it is open it cannot release its fragrance into the world. The fragrance of the heart is made up of the qualities and virtues of our spirit. Most of us have learned how to keep our heart closed in a world that would trample all over us if we let it. Being open hearted today seems to require tremendous courage. It is a courage which comes only when we realise that no one can hurt us, no matter what they say or do. They may hurt our body, but if we have realised we are spirit, nothing outside can touch us, if we so decide. Little by little, practice opening your heart to those you think have hurt you. Realise it wasn't them that hurt you, it was yourself. And it taught you not to trust and you closed your heart. A closed heart is in need of opening. And when you do, you will have begun to heal yourself. Love and Blessings
