Talk about malpractice! Acclaimed physicist and all-around genius Albert Einstein had his brain stolen after he died. Despite Einstein’s wishes to not be studied after death, pathologist Thomas Harvey stole his brain after he died in Princeton Hospital on April 18, 1955. In fact, the organ was taken without his family’s consent in a literal intellectual robbery. Harvey did manage to get the okay afterward from Einstein's son, Hans Albert, but the damage was already done, and he was fired. He took the brain and divided it into sections for study, preserving them in celloidin. He went on to lose his medical license but published a widely debunked study in 1985 claiming that the brain showed significant differences from the average brain that contributed to his intelligence.
